The Kurdistan Academy of Science sincerely congratulates mam Jalal Talabani and the people of Kurdistan for his nomination as Iraq's President. The full support of the Kurdistan Alliance List for his nomination was a breakthrough in Kurdish unity which we deeply hope will remain as the main strategy in every future move to protect and promote the interest of Kurdistan Region in a federal Iraq.
We also believe that this unity of purpose and action would be seen as a great success and achievement for Kurdistan after Pêshewa Gazi Mohamed as a first president of Kurdistan in 1946 and the continuous struggle of Leader Mustafa Barzani for the recognition of Kurdistan as nation.
We hope that president mam Jalal Talabani would be able to create ample opportunities for the progress of science and strengthen the awareness of people in all part of Kurdistan. Kurdistan Academy of Science wishes him a successful presidential period, in a difficult but decisive turning point in the history of Kurdistan, Iraq and possibly the entire Middle East.
