The culture and Media Art committee promoting proper environment for artistic creativity, crafts and design, artist status, and artistic education allowing intercultural dialogue in order to maintain cultural diversity, to protect cultural heritage, museum, tourism and history. Access to the new technologies opens the way to original forms of expression, promoting information exchange, dialogue and communication among artists, scientists and technicians from different geo-cultural regions, developing their own approaches and practices in various disciplines and fields of knowledge connected to media arts. Support existing institutions and networks throughout the Kurdish communities in the transfer of knowledge, according to UNESCO’s major initiatives aiming at the development of interdisciplinary activities in research, creativity and communication in the field of culture and media arts.
The Arts and Cultural Committee aims to do the following: • Advancement of Kurdish culture locally, regionally, and internationally. • Contribute to the economic development of Kurdish cultural industry. • Work with the Diaspora in preserving the cultural traditions in Kurdistan. • Teach Kurdish cultural traditions to new generations at different education stages. • Create exposure for Kurdistan artists, art educators, art administrators, and art related businesses and organizations. • Establish a network of Kurdistan artists at home and abroad. • Create teaching opportunities for Kurdistan artists and artistic entrepreneurs. • Conduct workshops and seminars in all aspects of the cultural industry. • Use arts and culture as a marketing tool for Kurdistan tourism industry. • Promote the use of Kurdistan cultural forms as tools for education, community and youth development. • To work with KRG, non government and private sector on regulation matters related to art and culture.
